The Regional Park of La Mandria is home to the prestigious “La Venaria Reale” International Riding Centre, that is part of the overall promotion of the Venaria Reale estate.

The project entailed the restoration of the Cascina Rubbianetta farmhouse, a 5,000 sq. m facility built in 1863 that served as a horse breeding centre, and the construction of outdoor facilities for training, paddocks and a 40,000 sq. m. roofed riding ground.

The International Riding Centre Foundation brings together Regione Piemonte, the University of Turin, the National Horse Association (Unione Nazionale Incremento Razze Equine) and the Italian Equestrian Sports Federation. It pursues the following objectives:

• providing professional training
• providing university education and advanced training
• providing sports training
• promoting scientific research for the wellbeing of the horse
• functioning as a cultural, educational, and museum centre
• engaging in riding therapy research.
