EXHIBITIONS AT LA VENARIA REALE IN 2010

In addition to Royal Diadems and Jewellery. Masterpieces of Italian Goldsmiths for the Savoy Court. and Knights. From the Templars to Napoleon. Stories of Crusaders, soldiers, gentlemen of the court that will extend into 2010, the calendar of events includes:

Great Exhibitions at La Venaria Reale
Jesus. His Body and Face in Art (from April 1 to August 1, 2010 - extended until 5 September). On the occasion of the Exposition of the Holy Shroud in Turin, the Reggia di Venaria is organising an exhibition in Juvarra’s former Stables on the role of the body of Christ in arts, with paintings and sculptures from the late Middle Ages to the Baroque period and a set of masterpieces from Italian and foreign churches and museums.

Other events are now in their advanced planning phase: the exhibition Magic lantern and painted film. Four centuries of cinema (July 20 - November 7, 2010) a coproduction by the National Cinema Museum of Turin and the Cinémathèque Française of Paris and Masterpieces of the Galleria Sabauda (working title, dates to be set) in cooperation with Turin’s Galleria Sabauda.
